Thank you for praying with us for Gustavo.
We'd like to give you an update.
Chris did take him to the hospital in San Pedro Sula where they gave his caregiver, his niece, enema supplies to administer to him at home because they had no space for him in the hospital. Not a very easy job to undertake considering she lives in a small shack with a dirt floor and only a foam for a bed. Gustavo has prostate cancer and because the inflammation is so severe he cannot walk but must be carried.
His niece moved him in with her to care for him. Although she has children of her own and very little to share, she is sharing everything with him. What a labor of love.
To see someone with so little giving all they have. She said she feels that this is what God would have her to do.
Visiting this family, taking medical supplies and helping as we can is also allowing us to get to know their neighbors. We are praying that we can also be Jesus' hands to them.
One neighbor has a little girl with a club foot. The little girl has been seen by a doctor and was referred to a hospital in San Pedro Sula but her family has not taken her because they do not have the money to do so. We will try to do better at keeping you updated on our prayer requests.Thank you for sharing our burden. God bless.
